Our story
In 1991 owner Lori Wyzard opened Bay Area Floors and Design in Redwood City, California. Before stepping into flooring and home improvement, she worked in the fashion industry traveling from San Francisco to Manhattan. After leaving the fashion industry and working as an interior designer, Lori opened a boutique style flooring and home showroom. Her goal was to blend the two industries together to create spaces that were not only functional but fashionable.
As a mother of three, Lori understood the importance of functionality in a home but was not willing to sacrifice on the design. Her functional and fashionable approach took the industry by storm. She opened a second location in San Mateo, California in 1997. After ten years of running both locations, Lori decided to close her first location and expand her San Mateo showroom.
Over 30 years in business
By 2014, Bay Area Floors and Design became a Carpet One Floor and Home cooperative. This newfound partnership provided Bay Area Floors with the most competitive prices and innovative floors in the industry. Fast forward to today, Bay Area Floors and Design Carpet One has expanded its showroom to over 20,000 square feet. The showroom features flooring, furniture, vanities, wallpaper, home décor, and more.
